I have a friend who’s getting married over the Christmas holiday and she was trying to think of a bridesmaid’s gift that was seasonably appropriate, memorable, and still within her budget. After much debate, she decided on these ruby heart-shaped earrings. I thought they were perfect: red for Christmas, hearts representing love, and jewelry that the bridesmaids could wear and enjoy for years. I can remember being a bridesmaid and receiving a gift that I instantly knew I’d never use again. Being in the wedding requires an attendant to spend big bucks for her gown and shoes (which are never, despite some denials to the bride, ever worn again.)
