Christian rings are a wonderful expression of faith and devotion. Today there are a multitude of styles, materials and symbols offered in religious jewelry. Gold and silver; diamonds and gemstones; crosses and prayer rings, all of these can be found in designs to suit almost any taste and wallet. Traditionally, the faithful have worn crosses as a reminder of Christ’s death and resurrection as well as a symbol of the hope that faith brings. Other symbols such as Jesus’ name, the letters WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) and JMJ (Jesus, Mary and Joseph) can be found. Prayer rings, dedicated to prayer, and Purity rings, which vow adolescent abstinence until marriage, are becoming more and more popular. In fact, Purity rings which started appearing on the market in the 1990s with the intent that the wearer would eventually replace the ring with a wedding band, have become increasingly fashionable.
