Holiday Jewelry Shopping on a Budget - Alternative Metals

We are fast approaching the holiday shopping season and with the economy as it is, most people do not have as much money to spend this year.  As I began thinking about gifts for my loved ones and knowing I will be on a tight budget, I started searching for new ideas.  Surprisingly, I found a great option in jewelry alternative metals.  This collection of jewelry is made from metals such as tungsten carbide, stainless steel, and titanium to name a few.  I was very impressed at how nice these jewelry pieces look as well as their durability.

Stainless steel jewelry is an alternative to a white gold or platinum look but at a fraction of the cost.  Stainless steel will not stain or rust and is a very low maintenance metal type.

Tungsten carbide metals are usually used in wedding bands.  The tungsten metal wedding bands can be buffed to a beautiful mirror finish.  Tungsten carbide is highly resistant to scratches and scuffs and keeps the shiny finish for a long time.

Titanium, which is also known as the space age metal, is a low density and strong metal.  Titanium jewelry also is an alternative to the white gold or platinum metals.  Titanium is becoming very popular in jewelry because of it’s durability.  It is also non-allergenic so it will not irritate the skin.  You can often find titanium in watches.

All of these alternative metal jewelry options have come a long way in their designs and there is something for everyone.  The costs are much lower than that of gold or platinum and are very durable.  These new high-tech alloys would be great for younger jewelry lovers or one who needs more protection from dents and scratches from everyday wear and tear but staying very fashionable!
