Peridot and Diamond Pendant

The peridot gemstone is the August birthstone.  Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occurs in only one color, which is an olive green. The amount of iron in the gemstone creates the intensity and tint of the green in the peridot.  This means the color of an individual peridot gemstones can vary from olive to brownish green.  The dark olive green is the most valued of all the peridot gemstones.

The peridot is periodically paired up with other gemstones in jewelry designs as well as with diamonds.  In my opinion the peridot by itself with diamond accents is absolutely beautiful.  The light green of the peridot makes it a perfect summer gemstone and jewelry accent.
