Jewelry Glitz at the 2010 Emmy Awards
The Emmy’s, like the Academy Awards, are basically, an opportunity for celebrities to wear gowns and jewelry that the rest of us dream about wearing. We enjoy commenting on the ensembles worn almost as much as we do celebrating or expressing exasperation over the winners.
One of the most noticeable jewelry trends at this year’s Emmy’s was the sparkling display of Everlon Diamond Knot jewelry. Celebraties including Katrina Bowden of “30 Rock”, Gail Simmons of “Top Chef”, Giuliana Rancic of “E!” and Kate Gossliin of “Kate Plus 8″ were each adorned with gorgeous earrings, rings, and bangle bracelets representative of the jewelry style.
The Everlon Knot was created to emulate the Hercules Knot, an ancient symbol of unbreakable love. At the center of the knot, rests a diamond, one of the strongest materials on earth. Without the diamond, the knot would unravel. Symbolically, the jewelry expresses the believe that the ties of love are bounded and both enduring and indestructible.

The Jewish faith does not believe that God should be represented in any form, including stylized symbols seen in jewelry. However, there are symbols that are universally accepted and proudly displayed by Jews around the world. One such motif is the highly recognizable Star of David, a six pointed star ...continue

We're all happy to celebrate it, but I've never actually taken the time to look up the meaning behind the Labor Day holiday. After a little research, I discovered that the holiday was first celebrated in New York in 1882. The creator of the holiday is debated, and ...continue

Scott Kay is no fan of tungsten carbide wedding bands for men. To Kay, the concept that wedding bands manufactured of this material are indestructible is a misnomer. In a YouTube video, Kay denounces the use of the metal alloy in wedding bands for two significant reasons. First, the alloy ...continue

Alexandrite was first discovered in April 1834 in Russia's Ural Mountains. Ironically, enough, the discovery coincided with the coming of age of Czar Alexander II, and the stone possessed the amazing ability to morph from green to red, the two colors that represented Imperial Russia. The Russian elite took this ...continue

On July 28, the Game Show Network (GSN) and Reeds Jewelers proclaimed Cindy Clark of Hurst, Texas, the winner of their "Rings and Romance Sweepstakes". In one of those "aah" moments, Cindy told the GSN audience that she and her husband Gary were newlyweds of eight months, and although ...continue

As a parent of a teenager, I'm well aware that plastic or rubber bracelets are "in". Every kid I see seems to be wearing either inexpensive wristbands stamped with a trendy saying or word or the increasingly popular packets of Silly bands in assorted shapes and colors. I can understand ...continue

Back in the '80s, I can remember coveting a Swatch watch more than any other brand of watch. Why? They weren't uncommon or expensive, nor were they elegant, classy or fine-quality. What they were was bold, youthful, and fun. The Swatch brand was born in 1983 upon the merger of two ...continue

Lets be perfectly honest here. Guys wear cuff links once in a blue moon. If you are considering buying cuff links to give as a gift, you need to keep that in mind. However, when a guy is getting dressed up enough to need cuff links, you can be pretty ...continue

I personally like symbolic jewelry. There are many designer rings, earrings, pendants, and charms that are engraved, embossed, or shaped as symbols associated with good luck. Shamrocks or four-leaf clovers, horseshoes, pennies, ladybugs and rabbits feet are all easily recognizable and popular symbols found in jewelry. Less known symbols that ...continue

I've heard of the term "Bezel Setting" in reference to diamond and gemstone jewelry or watches but was unsure of its exact meaning. Well, after a little research I found that a Bezel Setting is a type of setting where a gem or watch face is set evenly with or ...continue
