It’s easy to find Valentine’s Day jewelry for women.   Stylized hearts and cupids, etched words of love, and vivid red or pastel pink gemstones are readily available in jewelry selections.  Similar options are out there for guys, but the question remains as to whether or not the man in your life will actually wear it.  Some guys might not be comfortable wearing such romantic jewelry as it’s not exactly a “tough guy” choice.  Instead, opting for jewelry that is not necessarily reminiscent of the holiday might be a better idea if the buyer wants her fellow to wear her gift.  One type of jewelry for men that is sure to please is college or university jewelry.  I especially like the officially licensed university rings designed by Collegiate Jewel.  These rings are attractive, durable, and sure to please the avidly school-spirited guy.  University and collegiate rings are a unique and great gift idea for Valentine’s Day.

Red Heart Jewelry for Valentine’s Day

Okay, red hearts are definitely cliche as a gift for Valentine's Day.  Shaped in the form for boxes of chocolates, scrawled on Valentine's cards, and stylized on clothing and jewelry, red hearts exemplify the holiday.  A host of variations on the concept are readily available in gifts in every shopping ...continue
Jewelry and New Year’s Resolutions

Many of us start out the New Year by proclaiming our intent to stick to some resolution that will make us a better person in some way.  At first, we're  highly determined, even eager, to adhere to the promise we made to ourselves.  We're confident that by the end of ...continue
Gift Ideas: Swarovski Christmas Figurines

Many of us spend a lot of time decorating our homes for the Christmas season.  Every year we put up the tree, hang the lights, and place holiday themed decorations in strategic places about the house.  For me, holiday decorations are placed in four general categories: inexpensive nick-knacks, gifts, collectibles, ...continue
Christmas Gift Ideas: Angel Jewelry
no responses - Posted 11.15.11
One of the most compelling parts of the Christmas story is the story of the angels' appearances to foretell the birth of Christ.  Angels, including the archangel Gabriel, were said to have appeared to Mary to inform her of the upcoming birth, then to Joseph to assure him of the ...continue

This Friday, November 11, is Veteran's Day.   It's an important day for us to honor those brave men and women who've fought for our country in times of war and kept us safe in times of peace.  Veteran's Day, originally called Armistice Day  and later Remembrance Day, was first proclaimed ...continue
Gift Ideas for Christmas

The clock is ticking.  It's already November first and I, as usual, have not  started my Christmas shopping.  I like to pretend my drop dead end date for shopping is the day before Thanksgiving.  To me, there is a clear difference between shopping for fun and fighting a mob but ...continue
About Sweethearts Jewelry

When I was a kid, one of the iconic candies were Sweethearts.   The crispy sugar confection was a basic staple for any Valentines Day and there was always a great deal of fun and enjoyment when the candies were passed out to fellow classmates.  I can still hear the snickers ...continue
Symbolic Jewelry: Peace

September 21st is the International Day of Peace, or World Peace Day.  The holiday was created by the United Nations in 1981 as a day to celebrate the absence of war.  To commemorate the event, a "Peace Bell" was cast from coins donated by children around the world and gifted ...continue
What’s New in Charm Bracelets
no responses - Posted 09.06.11
Charm bracelets are not what they used to be.  Yesterday's charm bracelets were formed from solid metal links, generally silver or gold, and consisted of a series of charms in a matching metal that were permanently soldered onto a chain link bracelet.  The charms were selected either with a central ...continue
Gifts for Mother’s Day: Mother and Child Jewelry
no responses - Posted 04.29.11
Jewelry Designer Jane Russell created the Mother and Child jewelry concept to celebrate her bond with her son.  At first, the idea was personal, but she realized the idea wasn't just about her own story, but every mother's story.  The jewelry's design is a symbol of the love that each ...continue
