Gift Ideas for Grandparents
The older I get, the more I rely on reading glasses to see fine print. I know I’m not alone. It’s a fact, as we age, most of us lose some level of visual acuity. Glasses and contacts are wonderful for letting us retain our vision to closely approximate the level we experienced in our younger days. Tools such as larger print books or magnifiers make our lives better. It occurred to me that the ability to distinguish fine markings on many watch designs is similar to not being able to see small print. Having a watch with larger, easy-to-read numbers doesn’t require us to calculate the time by evaluating hand placement. Some watches are also luminous, another factor that reduces the need for keen vision. Many fine designer watch brands, including Bulova and Swiss Army, offer selections with larger characters, luminosity, and/or bigger watch faces. I think a watch with large numbers is a wonderful gift idea for grandparents to make their lives just a little bit easier.
