April’s birthstone is the diamond.  Don’t get me wrong, I love diamonds, but diamonds are usually the stone used in engagement rings, anniversary rings, and as gifts from loved ones that mark a special moment in one’s life.  To me, a birthstone is a gemstone that represents a particular month.   Differentiating between diamonds given for the special occasions mentioned above and those given as a “birthstone” is not easily apparent.  To me, one answer to this dilemma  is to give colored diamonds as birthstone gifts.  Diamonds are found in a wide array of colors, including pink, black, champagne, blue, and green.   Colored diamonds can be found in earrings, bracelets, rings, brooches and pins; set in an assortment of metals; and in just about any jewelry style desired.  Adding color to diamond jewelry can set it apart and make it a memorable and unique gift for April birthdays.
