It’s true what they say, diamonds are a girl’s best friend.  But the question arises, why does a woman have to be engaged or married to wear diamonds?  Diamond rings on the left hand have long signified that a female was in a committed, loving relationship.  Some gals, however, do not feel its mandatory to find a guy willing to buy her a diamond in order to wear one.  Today’s woman can buy a diamond ring for herself and chose the one she REALLY wants.  To many, that’s what a right hand ring implies.  It’s a fancy cut diamond ring or cocktail ring worn on the right hand that denotes her independence, or for married ladies, her individuality, not her role as “wife” or “mother”.  To others, right hand rings are simply for fun and the love of beautiful jewelry; they don’t have to mean anything.  Wearing a diamond ring should never be considered a right bestowed by engagement, but as a pleasure deserved by every woman.
