Back in June, Reeds Jewelers, a Wilmington, NC based company, hosted a real life treasure hunt in their home town. Called the “Diamond Dash”, a series of clues and challenges were hidden throughout the city of Wilmington. Couples were to work together to solve the clues, meet the challenges, and then race to be the first to locate an $11,000 Scott Kay diamond engagement ring and wedding bands. High school sweethearts who had been dating for 8 years, Rebecca Pirone and Matthew Dawson, were the eventual winners. The story sounds like a romantic happy ending, right? Well, unfortunately, the couple’s home was broken into last weekend and the bad guys made off with the prize diamond ring. Sometimes, however, happy endings are just meant to be. When Reeds Jewelers heard about the theft, they immediately made plans to replace the diamond ring and wedding bands. This time, the good guys came through.
